Philips recently said the company plans to upgrade and replace the Spanish capital of Madrid for urban lighting , the total number of replaced street lights is about 225,000 , the company said it is the largest urban lighting replacement project by far. In the replacement lamps, about 84,000 of lights are networked LED lamps. The entire project is expected to save the lighting energy consumption of Madrid for about 44%.

Philips has been replacing the urban lighting in Buenos Aires recently. A total number of 91,000 street lights will be replaced with networked LED lighting. The lighting in the city accounted for 70%. The project is the largest urban lighting replacement project before engaging the lighting replacement project in Madrid.
