As early as 2013, Panasonic announced its intention to donate 100 000 solar lights, Matsushita said was the world’s 13.2 million people can’t get electricity supply. For three years, the company said it had completed half the task, send 50,000 solar lighting. Panasonic now aims to 2018 when the company was founded 100 years to complete sending all 100,000 solar lighting goals. Matsushita said as of March 10, has sent 50,000 solar lights, will send 60,000 solar lights in the end of this month.

This solar lamp is developed by Matsushita Electric, and offers three brightness settings, with up to 90 hours of working time. This solar lighting integrated USB interface, mobile devices can be charged. As part of the plan, Panasonic also donated solar LED lights.

Panasonic solar street lighting and distributed through non-profit, non-governmental organizations, and international humanitarian organizations. According to Matsushita, it said 80 organizations in 16 countries have received these lamps can help end-users to learn, to provide medical services and generate income.
