During our using of LED, sometimes we meet with some broken LED Lighting Products, why? It’s take a lesson from the Chief Engineer of Eneltec, the top one of led street lighting suppliers.
Normally, whenever we see the broken LED, we would say it’s “dead”. The reasons could be different. One is the Leakage current over limit, the other is Internal connection lead of the LED lights off, this problem would also influence the other LED’s working situation, the reason is the LED works in 1.8-3.2V, normally are linked in series or parallel, so this problem is much more serious than the first one. So, let’s analyze the reasons for these “dead LEDs”.
1. Static electricity would damage the LED Chips. As we all know, the ESD of humen being’s body could be 3000V, strong enough to break the LED chips. So the ESD protection is very important in the production line. Normally, Grounding resistance should be 4Ω, some places’ request would be lower than 2Ω, every led street lighting suppliers know about this, but how to reach that?
Some low quality LED factories never test the Grounding resistance, others test them once per year, or once per season. As far as I know, the best led street lighting suppliers — Eneltec do these testing every month.
Sometimes, even in the lighting fairs, some LEDs “dead”, the reason is because after some time of use, the leakage current would be increased and also the problems of humidity.
There so may reasons of broken led lamps, the most important thing is that, we shall choose the good products from good suppliers.
