Proper use of LED spotlights, in order to prolong life

LED spotlights have energy-saving and environmental protection, thus being more and more favored by users of all ages, LED spotlights life is very long, but the installation still need to pay attention to the use of LED spotlights in order to prolong its life.

(1) Temperature Characteristics
Depending on the LED temperature characteristics, when temperature rise 5 ℃, and flux decreased 3%, regardless of winter or summer, you should pay attention to the working temperature and storage temperature when using LED. Minimum operating temperature is -25 ℃ up to 85 ℃, the minimum storage temperature is -40 ℃ up to 100 ℃.

(2) Soldering iron
Hand soldering with a soldering iron welding, it requires less than 25W (maximum of 30W) soldering iron, and iron temperature must be kept no higher than 300 ℃, generally recommended below 260 ℃, soldering time should not exceed 3 seconds.

(3) LED voltage and current
1. we do not recommend to use parallel LED, even it is the same model, same batch of LED operating voltage has some differences, unless good current sharing circuitry.

2. When install ultra-bright white LED, it should have anti-static facilities, because damaged by static electricity super bright white LED cannot be seen by naked eye, then it will reduce the service life.

3. If the LED’s operating voltage is 0.1V, then operating current will change about 20mA. Typically, using a series limiting resistor, you can also use a simple constant voltage circuit, the purpose is to achieve automatic voltage limiting current limiting to prevent damage to LED.

4. Common LED peak current is 50 ~ 100mA, reverse voltage is 6V or so, when in the LED application design, the peak voltage and current should pay attention, and cannot exceed this limit. When the peak voltage of the circuit is too high, it is likely to damage the LED.
