In order to actively respond to the national call for energy conservation and emission reduction and promote the construction of green and low-carbon cities, the Hengshui Street Lamp Management Center in Hebei Province recently launched the Shengli Road (Qianjin Street-Wenjin Street Section) street lamp energy-saving renovation project, which will comprehensively upgrade the 282 high-pressure sodium lamps along the road and replace them with new high-efficiency LED lighting fixtures.

“Compared with the previous light source, the LED lamps replaced now can give people a brighter feeling under the same illumination.” On May 29, at the intersection of Shengli Road and Qianjin Street in the urban area, the staff of the Hengshui Street Lamp Management Center were carrying out street lamp renovation and installation work. After the completion of this renovation project, it will not only significantly improve the quality of road lighting, but also greatly reduce energy consumption, creating a safer and more comfortable night travel environment for citizens. Compared with traditional high-pressure sodium lamps, new LED lamps have obvious advantages in multiple performance indicators. Although traditional sodium lamps have higher brightness, they generally have problems such as high energy consumption, short service life, and low light efficiency. LED lamps are expected to have a comprehensive energy saving rate of more than 50% due to their technical characteristics such as low energy consumption, long life and high color rendering. According to calculations, according to the standard of a single street lamp working 10 hours a day, the transformation can save about 120,000 kWh of electricity throughout the year, which is equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by more than 100 tons, achieving both economic and ecological benefits.
It is worth mentioning that LED lighting technology can also bring a better visual experience. Its light is soft and uniform, and the color rendering index is significantly improved. It can effectively improve the color distortion of objects under the illumination of traditional sodium lamps, greatly improve the recognition and safety of night roads, and make our city brighter at night and more dazzling at night.
