At 7:30 PM on December 17th, 310 solar streetlights in Lazishao Village, Pingdi Town, Renhe District, Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province, automatically lit up. In the village committee square, more than 30 villagers were rehearsing their New Year’s Eve performance under the bright lights, their dance steps lively. “Now that the streetlights are bright, we have even more energy for rehearsals,” villager Na Xingyan said with a smile, wiping the sweat from her brow.

This year, Pingdi Town adopted a joint model of “township leadership, social donations, collective subsidies, and villager fundraising,” raising over 220,000 yuan to install 310 new solar streetlights along 10 kilometers of main roads and public spaces in the four villager groups of Lazishao Village. Of these, 55 streetlights were donated by charitable organizations; 160,000 yuan was subsidized by the village collective economy; and 20,000 yuan was raised by villagers to install 255 streetlights.
Fruit farmers’ trucks, returning from the orchards, drove steadily through the brightly lit section of road. “This road used to be dark, and I wasn’t comfortable transporting fruit at night. Now it’s much better-bright and safe, allowing me to make more trips,” he said.
Pingdi Town will further promote this collaborative mechanism throughout the town, focusing on infrastructure construction, public service improvement, and industrial development support, to facilitate the implementation of more projects that benefit the people.
