Recently, residents of Chongqing Dazu District found that the old town, which was previously dim at night, suddenly became brighter. Residents who pick up their children no longer worry about the dim light affecting their vision, and grandpa and aunt are more interested in taking a walk at night.
The original street lights (palace lanterns) in Dazu Old Town have been in use for a long time, and there are problems such as aging of lampshades, poor light transmittance and high power consumption, which bring inconvenience to citizens traveling at night.
In order to completely solve the safety hazard problem of insufficient lighting of some street lights (palace lanterns) in the old town, the district street light office and relevant units conducted on-site inspections to understand the layout of the roads and the distribution of palace lanterns in the old town, follow the principle of saving money and meeting the needs of citizens for night travel, and achieve the elimination of backward and high-energy-consuming products to achieve energy-saving and emission reduction effects. A rectification plan for repairing and reusing the old was formulated, and the 387 palace lanterns with insufficient illumination and high power consumption in the old town were uniformly replaced. The replacement project is expected to be completed before December 30.
The replaced lamp heads are not only brighter and more energy-efficient, but also have a longer service life and more stable lighting effects, effectively improving the safety factor of residents’ night travel and winning wide praise from the public.
