Da Kulun Township, Shangdu County, Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia, promotes street lighting projects

In order to fundamentally solve the problem of insufficient night lighting, the People’s Government of Da Kulun Township took the initiative to organize multiple research teams to go deep into various villages, visit door to door, and widely collect the specific needs of villagers for street lighting projects. The villagers have expressed that they hope that street lights can be installed at the entrance of the village, main streets and crowded areas.

Based on the results of in-depth research, the township government actively communicated and coordinated with the superior departments, reported in detail the current situation of rural lighting and the urgent needs of the villagers, and strived for financial support from the superiors. After unremitting efforts, we successfully applied for 1.2 million yuan of special funds for rural one-issue-one-discussion, laying a solid foundation for the smooth launch of the street lighting project.

In order to ensure that the street lighting project fits the actual situation of each village, the People’s Government of Dakulun Township innovatively proposed a “one street, one implementation” plan. According to the layout of streets in different villages, the flow of people and the terrain characteristics, a personalized street light installation plan is formulated. Combined with the undulating terrain and the winding road conditions, the position of the street lights is flexibly adjusted to ensure that the key nodes and bends of the road can be illuminated.

At the beginning of the project, the construction team encountered many difficulties. Dakulun Township has a complex terrain. Different landforms such as mountains and hills bring great challenges to the site selection and line laying of street light installation. The changeable local weather also has a serious impact on the construction. But the construction workers did not back down. With their professional skills and tenacious perseverance, they strictly followed the engineering standards, accurately debugged the installation position, angle and line connection of each street light, and made every effort to ensure the quality of the street lights and lighting effects. Relevant leaders of the Dakulun Township People’s Government visited the construction site many times to coordinate and solve construction problems and ensure the smooth progress of the project.
