Among the 97 residential communities in the Kebul Town area of Chahar Right Middle Banner, some old neighborhoods previously had no street lights, posing significant safety risks for residents traveling at night. As part of the “Brightening Project,” Kebul Town organized grid workers to conduct door-to-door visits and create a “lighting blind spot map.” Ultimately, 23 communities with poor basic conditions and strong resident feedback were identified as the first batch of pilot sites for renovation, where solar street lights were installed to achieve “lighting wherever needed.”

Xie Junyi, a resident of Kebul Town, Chahar Right Middle Banner, said, “Installing solar street lights in our community is both economical and energy-saving, as well as safe and environmentally friendly. Before, this road was completely dark at night, and there was quite a lot of traffic. Now, it’s bright in the evenings, and we don’t have to worry about the safety of walking at night anymore. It’s truly a beneficial and people-friendly initiative!”

With the continuous implementation of the “Brightening Project,” not only has the practical issue of nighttime travel for residents been resolved, but it has also added a sense of comfort and security to their journeys home.

Xia Jincheng, Deputy Secretary of the Kebul Town Committee in Chahar Right Middle Banner, stated, “Kebul Town is actively advancing people’s livelihood projects. This time, we installed 293 street lights in 23 communities across the town. The installation work has currently been completed. We will continue to focus on the needs of residents, keeping people’s livelihood matters in mind, taking them firmly in hand, and implementing them effectively, using practical actions to light the ‘lamp of satisfaction’ in people’s hearts.”

There are no small matters in people’s livelihoods, and every detail reflects care. Chahar Right Middle Banner will take these livelihood projects as an opportunity to integrate the philosophy of “I Do Practical Things for the People” into grassroots governance. Relying on grid-based management, a closed-loop service mechanism of “residents ordering, communities dispatching, departments accepting, and the public evaluating” will be established, allowing more people-centered projects like the “Brightening Project” to take root and flourish.
