To improve pedestrian lighting and enhance the commercial atmosphere, the District Greening and Urban Appearance Bureau, under the overall direction of the District Party Committee and District Government, spearheaded the landscape lighting project along the eastern section of Huaihai Middle Road (between Chongqing South Road and Tibet South Road) under the design theme of “More Humanistic, More Integrative, More Future-Oriented.” The project aims to complement the neighborhood’s first stores, launches, and marketing events, enriching nighttime entertainment, sightseeing, and shopping.

This lighting project focuses on the street trees along the eastern section of Huaihai Middle Road, using “gypsophila” as the primary lighting format. Adhering to the principle of “respecting nature and maintaining a balanced density,” this approach emphasizes the tree’s form (such as the direction of its branches). Lighting, through embellishment and refinement, highlights its natural lines, reshapes the branches, and showcases their vitality as they grow and stretch upward. This balanced density approach utilizes the painting technique of “smooth ink fading,” with the lighting arranged from dense to sparse along the middle of the tree trunks. This not only enhances the three-dimensional form of the trees but also creates an artistic atmosphere through the gradual play of light and shadow.

In addition, “bird and insect” themed lighting fixtures have been added to areas where trees flourish and visitors linger. Their playful shapes and vibrant colors are eye-catching. These “little elves” twirl and flutter, complementing the beautiful spring evening.
