Differences between LED Spotlights and LED Down Lights

In life, many people could not distinguish LED down light from LED spotlights. In household decoration, LED down lights and LED spotlights have different usages. To put it in a simply way, LED down light is a more condenser light compared with ordinary surface mounted lighting. It is generally used for general lighting or auxiliary lighting. LED spotlight is a highly condensed lamp. The light from it casts on a specific target. LED spotlight is mainly used for special lighting. For example, to emphasize a very tasty and interesting place. Then what is the difference between LED spotlights and LED down lights? Here we will distinguish the two lights from the light source and the application position.

Differences between LED Spotlights and LED Down Lights

1. The light source

LED down lights can be installed with LED bulbs as well as LED fluorescent lamps.

The light direction of LED down light could not be adjusted.

General household LED spotlight uses LED lamp beads. Of course, LED bulbs are not necessarily used in large LED spotlights. Generally, the light direction of LED spotlights can be adjusted freely.

2. The application position

LED down lights are generally installed inside the ceilings which should be 150mm high. Of course, there also exists external type LED down light. In areas without dome light or drop light, LED down light chandelier could be a good choice since the light is relatively softer than spotlight.

LED spotlight can generally be divided into orbital, point hanging and embedded. LED spotlight generally has a transformer, but there are also without a transformer. The embedded LED spotlight can be installed inside the ceiling. LED spotlight is mainly used in areas need emphasizing, such as TV walls, paintings, jewelry, etc., which can enhance the light effects.

Excellent Heat Control

The floodlight is fully made from die-cast aluminum housing for great heat transfer. Furthermore, the power supply chamber and light source cavity are completely separated. The excess heat from the LED is removed through the outer wings by air cross-ventilation to ensure extended life of the LED and power supply.

Flexible Installation

The supporting U-shaped fixture is specially bent to allow 180 deg installation angle. The down angle can be adjusted down to 45 deg.

Various Options

Our LED Floodlights come in 10W up to 40W power ratings. LED light colours range from warm white to cool white (2700K – 7000K) Our LED Floodlights can be powered by both AC and DC. The 10W to 25W range are DC 12V powered and perfect for combination with any solar project. The 30W to 40W LED floodlight range is powered by AC 230V.
