One is a “Finlight” brand of LED tube that can be energized at both ends as it is inserted or reinserted into the lamp holder, causing the user to get an electric shock. Another is “LUMENIX” brand LED light bulbs. The creepage distance between the live parts and the touchable parts is too small, resulting in the live parts being electrified and the danger of electric shock. Neither product meets the requirements of the European Low Voltage Directive and the European standard EN 60598. Importers have taken the product out of the market and recall from the consumer measures. It is reported that only the first half of this year, the European Commission non-food rapid warning system on the recall of China’s LED lamps have been over 10.

Jiangsu is an important production base of China’s LED industry with output value of 50 billion yuan, accounting for 12% of the country’s total. Jiangsu Inspection and Quarantine Bureau reminded that at present, the quality and functional requirements of LED lamps and lanterns will be higher and higher. Low-priced and low-quality products are difficult to form unique customers, not to mention sustainable profitability. The integration speed of LED lamps and lanterns industry accelerate. Production enterprises should keep abreast of the developed countries in Europe and the United States LED lamps product standards, from product design, procurement of raw materials, assembly and other aspects of production, and effectively improve product quality. At the same time, strengthen the inspection and quarantine departments, industry associations, serious study of the quality of the recall of foreign products, give topless to the situation, grasping the key quality issues, the blind pursuit of low prices to focus on the product itself, and enhance the “Made in China” international market competitiveness .
