2018 LED lighting product sales will increase by 16%

The three exhibitions attracted a total of nearly 69,000 buyers from 151 countries and regions in their purchases, an increase of 7% over the previous year. Buyers in India, Iran, Brazil, UAE, Mainland China, Spain, Russia, Taiwan, Italy and France recorded double-digit increases.

From the admission of buyers and business matching figures, the results of on-site investigations and the recent export performance in Hong Kong, the lighting industry is optimistic about the prospects for the coming year. According to the field survey, 93% of the respondents in the industry believe that smart cities and smart home will lead the lighting industry in the next two years. Home lighting systems that can communicate with or control smartphones or tablets, Energy-saving home, industrial and business intelligence lighting systems will be hot. ”

HKTDC commissioned an independent investigation agency to visit 636 exhibitors and buyers during the Autumn Light Show and the Outdoor and Technological Lighting Fair. About 95.5% of the respondents are optimistic about the performance of the coming year or think it is similar to that of this year. The average sales of lighting products are expected to increase by an average of 16% next year.

The most optimistic markets visited were Mainland China, Japan and ASEAN. In emerging markets, the industries most interested in developing their businesses are the Mainland (24%), ASEAN (17%) and the Middle East (7%) respectively. On the product front, the interviewed industry believes that home lighting (29%) has the most potential for growth. LED and eco-friendly lighting products (24%) and commercial lighting (16%) are also seen as top tier.
