San Francisco replace millions of dollars LED street lights

The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) is conducting a streetlight upgrade program, which will cost the city’s nearly half of the street lights to replace and the new street light will use energy-efficient LED bulbs.

“The new LED street lamp is now four to five times as long as the life of the street lamp, and it is expected to save 50% of the city’s energy costs,” said Barbara Hale, assistant general manager of SFPUC Electric. “In addition, we can use wireless networking technology to detect each bulb state, through the operation and maintenance platform, tells us how the light state, we can directly understand whether the light quality has met our standard requirements.
