The Spurs updated their latest information on the stadium’s roof structure on its official website.

“The roof was installed with 324 LED sports lights that provide flood lighting for the venue.”

However, the Spurs declined to disclose their LED lighting suppliers.

“Once all matters have been finalized, we will announce the lighting supplier in due course.” “Before this, we cannot disclose which one is.”

Last summer, the Spurs announced that Austrian LED lighting manufacturer Zumtobel is their lighting partner. The project is worth 850 million pounds (about 7.423 billion RMB). It focuses on the “fan experience” of digital lighting. . However, the project does not include site lighting.

At that time, the team did not even promise to use LED lighting. Although LED stadium lighting is emerging in many professional sports venues (such as Major League Baseball and NFL stadiums), stadium operators are sometimes opting to upgrade non-LED lighting systems. It is unclear whether Zumtobel won the bid for venue lighting.

The 324-inch LED luminaires will be mounted on 54 roof pillars, each with 6 inches. The roof is made up of glass panels that can be angled on the stands, but keep the playing field open.

The Spurs hope to open the stadium before the start of the 2018 season in August. A National Football League match between the Auckland Commando and the Seattle Seahawks will be held on October 14.
