In early spring, Dongfang City of Hainan Province is carrying out an all-round urban quality improvement initiative to refresh the look of streets and alleys. From streetlight upgrading and nightscape brightening to greening trimming and atmosphere creation, Dongfang is undergoing a quiet renewal with its urban landscape constantly elevated.
As night falls, when strolling along major and secondary urban roads including East Jiefang Road, Dongfang Avenue and South Second Ring Road, attentive citizens will notice that road lighting is brighter and more uniform than before. Such improvements are brought by the ongoing systematic streetlight upgrading project in Dongfang.
It is reported that the upgrading covers nearly 19,000 street lamps on major and secondary roads across the city. By replacing traditional lights with high-efficiency LED light sources and building an intelligent management and control system, power consumption is reduced at the source. With a total investment of 6.166 million yuan, the project includes streetlight renovation, intelligent system construction and full-cycle operation and maintenance services. It innovatively adopts the model of covering operation and maintenance costs with energy-saving benefits, achieving a win-win result of fiscal burden reduction and energy conservation efficiency.
