The section of the Xishuo Line from Shenshuo Avenue to Yingbin Avenue in Shuozhou, Shanxi Province, serves as the only route to Shuozhou Zirun Airport and Shuozhou East Station. For a long time, it faced heavy traffic, densely populated entrances and exits, and insufficient nighttime lighting.

To address this, Shuozhou City launched a lighting project that, in just 51 days, resolved the lighting bottleneck in this “last mile” of the transportation hub.
The section of the Xishuo Line from Shenshuo Avenue to Yingbin Avenue, once pitch black at night, is now illuminated by neatly arranged LED streetlights. Since the project’s completion, this vital thoroughfare connecting Shuozhou city, Shuozhou East Station, and Shuozhou Zirun Airport has completely bid farewell to the dark and transformed into a safe corridor for nighttime travel.
Across the Xishuo Line from Shenshuo Avenue to Yingbin Avenue, new streetlights are installed every 40 meters, illuminating the path for pedestrians. According to reports, all the streetlights installed this time use LED light sources, which not only significantly save energy but also have a lifespan twice as long as ordinary streetlights.
The lighting project for the Shenshuo Avenue to Yingbin Avenue section of the Xishuo Line encompasses multiple aspects, including pipeline relocation, power supply, and traffic diversion. Shuozhou City established a coordinated mechanism across multiple departments, adopting a “staggered operation + mechanized construction” model to advance the project construction as quickly as possible, ensuring its completion 40 days ahead of schedule.
Lei Zhanbiao, Chief Engineer of the Shuozhou Municipal Transportation Bureau, explained that with a total investment of approximately 6.5 million yuan, 278 new energy-saving LED streetlights were installed over 51 days from March 1 to April 20 of this year, achieving full illumination coverage along the 6.4-kilometer section. During the construction period, the municipal government repeatedly coordinated with relevant departments, including power and transportation, to ensure efficient progress and ahead of schedule completion.
