The global climate change and warming issue have become a topic of concern to all countries in the world. The Taichung Port Branch cooperates with the Executive Yuan’s “Government Institutions and Schools Energy Conservation Action Plan”. Last year, Taichung Port Passenger Service Center, Signal Station and other energy-saving lamps were replaced. In the group, about 1007 sets of lamps, such as the Harbour Building and indoor parking lot, will be replaced this year.

Taichung Port Branch said that the LED lamp products are green lighting, and the power consumption is 1/2 of that of fluorescent lamps. If the traditional lamps are used for 80 watts per watt (W) and 8 hours per day, 1600 groups will be replaced last year. 186,880 kWh, reducing electricity costs by about 840,000 yuan, equivalent to the purchase of 1000pcs LED flat panel lamps, about 1.5 years to recover costs.

This year, the replacement of the seaport building and the three-dimensional parking lot and other lamps and lanterns totaled 1007 groups, saving about 117,530 kWh per year and saving electricity costs by 520,000 yuan. The most important thing is that LED lamps convert electric energy into light energy to achieve optimal illumination, and life is about 10 times that of traditional fluorescent lamps. The energy-saving recycling efficiency is amazing.

Lu Zhanqiu, general manager of Taichung Port Branch, said that under the commitment of sustainable development of the environment and fulfilling corporate social responsibility, it will continue to promote effective energy management, implement energy conservation and carbon reduction policies, and contribute to the protection of the environment.
