 Taiwan intends to replace 700,000 LED streetlights in 2016

According to reports, the Taiwan government has allocated 5.49 billion Taiwan dollars (about 169 million US dollars) budget to finance local government in 2016 through an open tender procurement of 700,000 LED lights to replace the current mercury vapor lights.

It is understood that Taiwan’s most mercury vapor street lights have been replaced with LED lights, all the remaining lights will be replaced in 2016 overall. Industry sources, 2016 LED lights luminous efficiency of the procurement must exceed 100lm / W, which means that 700,000 lights will save 640 million kWh of power per year, equivalent to savings of NT $ 1.1 billion and NT $ 346 billion maintenance costs.
