Since 2018, Changping District has vigorously promoted the Huitian Action Plan, implemented Beijing’s first dedicated bicycle road project, and gradually improved the urban slow-traffic system. Since the opening of the first dedicated bicycle road on May 31, 2019, it has greatly enriched the travel methods of residents along the line and has also become a cultural corridor.
After verification, it was found that the street lights in the roadbed section of the bicycle-only road are solar street lights. The duration of continuous lighting is related to the lighting time and weather. Currently, the lighting time has been set to the maximum lighting time. In order to address citizens’ demands and make up for the problem that solar street lights cannot extend the lighting time, the District Urban Management Committee is actively studying solutions.
The final decision was to extend the shutdown time of the searchlight lighting in the culvert at the intersection of the Beijing-Baotou Line railway and the bicycle-only road to 6:50 a.m. to assist in lighting nearby road sections and meet the requirements for safe riding. Afterwards, the staff reported the adjustment results to the citizens, who were very satisfied with the results.
There is no small matter for the masses. In the next step, the Changping District Urban Management Committee will continue to respond to the concerns of the masses with a positive and serious working attitude, with the goal of resolving citizens’ demands in a timely manner, widely accepting citizens’ opinions and suggestions, treating the masses’ demands as their own business, and focusing on solving the problems of the masses. We will continue to improve service quality and create a good cycling environment for citizens by taking care of the worries, annoyances and worries around us.
