11 Chinese LED companies have achieved key victories in US 337 investigation cases

In June 2019, Ultravision initiated an intellectual property infringement lawsuit in the Eastern District of Texas against 11 Chinese LED display companies and international companies such as Samsung, Barco, and Prismaflex.

On March 27, 2018, the U.S. company Ultravision filed a 337 investigation application with the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), claiming that China’s exports to the U.S., imports in the U.S., and sales in the U.S.-related China-related specific modular LED display panels and their components violated In addition to its intellectual property rights, it accused 11 Chinese companies including Lianjian Optoelectronics, Absen, Unilumin Technology, Leyard, Alto Electronics, etc., of infringing on two of its LED display module patents, and requested the issuance of a general exclusion order, Limited exclusion order and prohibition order.

It is reported that in the 337 investigation involving intellectual property rights, whether American companies (natural persons) or non-U.S. companies (natural persons), as long as they believe that the imported products infringe their patent rights, trademark rights, copyrights or integrated circuit cloth registered or registered in the United States. On January 31, 2019, the U.S. ITC issued a preliminary ruling (Order No. 29) to approve the termination motion of Ultravision.

On February 21, 2019, the U.S. ITC officially issued a decision: not to reconsider the preliminary ruling of the ITC judge began on March 27, 2018 which the U.S. company initiated a patent infringement case against Chinese LED display companies. The investigation of the Ping 337 case officially ended.
