2018 China LED chip output continued to increase, accounting for 30% of the world

LED is the abbreviation of the English name of the LED, emitting wavelengths covering all visible light and infrared, ultraviolet and other bands of light.

As one of the highest thresholds in the LED industry chain, the non-visible light product market has been occupied by overseas enterprises. Only a few enterprises in China, such as San'an Opto electronics, have entered this field, but the headlights are visible in the field of visible light LED chips.

Outside the high-power product technology, the threshold is slightly lower, 85% of the market is being accelerated by the domestic chip companies to occupy the market size of 400-500 billion yuan, China's first-line chip production value far away from this scale.

The middle and lower reaches of the package and application links have been the first step in the chip chain shift to mainland China, led the rapid expansion of China's LED chip market demand.

LED companies in mainland China have not stopped expanding their production. From 2011 to 2016, they purchased 60% of MOCVDs worldwide. The share of output value has been increasing year by year. The output value in 2016 reached 14.5 billion yuan, accounting for 32% of the global share.

With chip expansion only focused on first-tier manufacturers in mainland China after 2017, it is estimated that the output value of LED chips in China will be close to half of the world by 2018 and the market share of the top ten chip companies will increase from 77% in 2016 to over 90%.
