2018 China's LED street lamp market will reach 14.2 billion

With the continuous development and maturity of LED road lighting, LED street lights have become more and more popular. It is worth mentioning that on January 5th, the “13th Five-Year Plan for Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction” issued by the State Council of China has clearly defined the main objectives and key tasks of the “13th Five-Year Plan” for energy conservation and emission reduction. The energy conservation and emission reduction work was fully deployed. The "Program" clearly states that by 2020, the total output value of green low-carbon industries such as energy conservation and environmental protection, new energy equipment and new energy vehicles will exceed 10 trillion RMB and become the main industry.

According to incomplete calculations, about 660 cities across the country are spending 700 million kilowatt-hours of electricity during the year, and need to spend 350 million RMB. And because of the 700 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, the corresponding increase in carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide emissions is harmful. Gas destroys air quality, which is not conducive to environmental protection, but also increases light pollution and light interference, hindering people's normal work and health.

Therefore, it is of great significance to start from streetlights, advocate green lighting, protect the environment, and save energy.

After implementing energy-saving renovation, street lamps can not only have the far-reaching impact on the society but also directly generate considerable economic benefits. It will help save urban public lighting energy consumption, create a low-carbon environment-friendly city, and build a livable area.

As one of the practical projects of the Xiamen Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government this year, the replacement of street lamps in the old residential areas and back streets has been officially launched. It is understood that this transformation will replace a total of about 2,500 street lamps, which use an LED light source, energy saving, and more intelligent can achieve single lamp control.

Hangzhou plans to brighten nearly 60 roads and residential roads in the main city from this month. More than 3,900 lamps will be replaced at that time, involving Jianggan District, Shangcheng District, Gongshu District, Xihu District, Xicheng District, and Xihu Scenic Area. This time, more than 3,900 street lamps to be brightened are one of the ten livelihood projects of the Hangzhou Municipal Government in 2018. The entire lighting project was jointly carried out by the Street Light Management Office and the Hangzhou Lighting Supervision Center.
