3.8RMB 9W LED bulb grab the Indian market
Recently, Philips Lighting in the Indian government's public LED bulb bidding project, resorted to "price Kill" to a price of only 0.57 US dollars (about 3.8 yuan) 9W LED bulb to participate in the bidding. The price is 30.8% lower than the earlier bid price in March this year.
The Indian government's LED lighting replacement program from last year to become the LED lighting business in emerging markets for the focus of contention. The Indian government plans to March 2019 in 100 cities, the implementation of LED lighting replacement program. According to the plan, this year will launch 200 million ball light bulbs tender.
Previously, in the third quarter of 2015, the Indian government's bulb price is expected to be 4.47 USD, to the fourth quarter of this year, the Indian government is expected to decline in prices to 0.66 USD. But the Philips bid to 0.57 USD, hoping to win the price advantage of the tender 50 million bulb.
The industry believes that the Philips price will intensify the degree of competition in the Indian market. Previously, the United States Linsen Lighting Lum Lighting, and local enterprises in India, in the local LED bulb assembly.
