90 solar LED street lights illuminate Yulin, Guangxi

During the Spring Festival, 90 brand-new solar street lights were lit up on the main roads and public areas of Xinfeng Village, Shuiming Town, Bobai County, Yulin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Liang Yuzhong, the first secretary of the village, actively coordinated with the supporting unit, Guangxi Mechanical and Electrical Vocational and Technical College, to implement 154,800 yuan of special assistance funds for this lighting project, which brought convenience to the villagers' travel during the Spring Festival.

Xinfeng Village is located in a mountainous area. There has been a long-term lack of street lights on both sides of the main roads in the village. Before that, the roads were dark every night, making it extremely inconvenient for villagers to travel, and there were great safety hazards in night travel. After the village committee cadres and the village team members visited and learned about this pain point of people's livelihood, Liang Yuzhong, the first secretary, quickly reported to the supporting unit, Guangxi Mechanical and Electrical Vocational and Technical College. The supporting unit attached great importance to it and listed the "rural lighting project" as an annual key assistance project. After field research and scientific planning, it formulated a "full coverage, high energy saving, and long-term benefit" solar street light installation plan, and completed the street light installation work before the Spring Festival.

It is understood that the solar street lights installed this time use high-efficiency photovoltaic panels and intelligent control systems, with the characteristics of "zero electricity bills, no wiring, and long life", which can save the village collective nearly 10,000 yuan in electricity bills and maintenance costs every year. The street lights cover key areas such as the main roads, forks, cultural squares, and primary school areas in the village, benefiting 736 households and 3,346 people. The installation project was completed by the village construction team, which also included the labor of 2 poverty-stricken households, bringing labor remuneration income to the villagers.

After the street lights were put into use, the quality of life of the villagers was greatly improved, and conditions were created for the development of the night economy and the enrichment of cultural life in the village. When night falls, warm white lights pour down, illuminating the villagers' way out. Today, children play, play ball, and set off firecrackers under the lights, and the elderly walk, chat, and play chess under the street lights. The whole village is filled with a strong breath of life.
