Ams and Osram launch new product to increase brightness of car headlights

On November 27, 2023, Ams-OSRAM (Swiss Stock Exchange: AMS), the world's leading optical solutions provider, announced the launch of the popular third-generation OSLON Submount PL series of LEDs for automotive headlights. Module and luminaire manufacturers offer higher brightness and more flexible design options.

The third generation OSLON? Submount PL LED is about 9% brighter than the second generation. This makes it possible for automakers to reduce system costs for new headlight designs. With the launch of its third generation, the OSLON? Submount PL series will continue to maintain a strong market position in the field of conventional static headlights for entry-level vehicles and electric vehicles.

Ams Osram provides two versions with different light-emitting areas (LEA) for the third generation OSLON? Submount PL series to choose from, allowing headlight manufacturers to flexibly meet the needs of different customers in products with a single circuit board layout. Specification requirements:

This new generation of LEDs inherits the consistently excellent quality and value of the OSLON Submount PL series. They are available in narrower monochromaticity bands, allowing manufacturers to streamline inventory and simplify the assembly process. These LEDs also offer high thermal stability and a smoother light shape through uniform color distribution across angles.

The third generation OSLON Submount PL product is now available in (1030) 2 LEA samples. The product models are KW2 C2LNL3.TK (two-chip module) and KW3 C3LNL3.TK (three-chip module).
