Beijing Fangshan LED Plant Factory can shorten the growth cycle of leafy vegetables to 35 days

The Publicity and Education Center of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs organized dozens of enthusiastic citizens, netizens and photographers to visit the LED plant factory in Fangshan District.

According to reports, the plant factory is the first production-type fully enclosed artificial light plant factory in Beijing. Through the scientific deployment of nutrient solution formula, red and blue LED artificial light formula and lighting time, as well as the control of carbon dioxide concentration, temperature and humidity environmental conditions, the growth cycle of leafy vegetables and lettuce can be shortened to 35 days, and the yield of a single tree can reach more than 100 grams.

In addition, the plant factory is efficient in land, water, energy conservation and environmental protection, providing a fully enclosed environment with a purification standard of 100,000 grades for vegetable growth, and zero pesticide use throughout the process. The low-concentration balanced nutrient solution is prepared for secondary reverse osmosis purified water, and the entire production system not only isolates various pollutions that may come from air, soil and natural water.

At present, the plant factory has cultivated many varieties of lettuce such as Merlot lettuce, elegant lettuce, Baoyulai lettuce, Jingshui lettuce, kale, etc. The cultivated vegetables have the characteristics of high nutrient content, good taste and low nitrate content.
