China 2016 total phase-out of incandescent

According to the national development and reform commission published "China sales roadmap （draft）", from October 1, 2016, banned the sale and import more than 15 watts and general lighting incandescent lamp.

Why incandescent eliminated? It is understood that most of the incandescent lamp will consume 90 percent of energy is converted to useless heat, only less than 10% of the energy will become light. This is a lot of power. As for the lighting time, the lamp life is usually not more than 1000 hours.

At present, the global push under the situation of energy conservation and emissions reduction, actively respond to climate change, many countries have introduced sales policies, accelerate the phase out inefficient lighting products.According to estimates, China lighting electricity accounts for about 12% of the whole society power consumption.If put in use all replacement for energy-saving lamps, incandescent lamp can power saving 48 billion KWH, equivalent to reduce carbon dioxide emissions of 48 million tons, great potential for energy saving and emission reduction.To phase out incandescent light bulb, will in order to achieve energy conservation and emissions reduction targets, and make a positive contribution in dealing with global climate change.
