Chinese company launched an improved version of the indoor high-tech "smart farm"

At present, many places in the world are using indoor agricultural control environment technology to grow crops, and Fujian Zhongke Biological Company from Anxi City, Fujian Province, China is improving this technology, hoping to contribute to the future development of China's agriculture .

Chinese company launched an improved version of the indoor high-tech "smart farm"

According to the "Daily Mail" report, the company recently announced its latest expansion project, which is based on an indoor high-tech farm that has been developed for about two years.

According to reports, the farm occupies an area of 5,000 square meters and can produce 8-10 tons of vegetables per day, but it only needs 4 employees to manage it. Traditional farmland requires about 300 farmers to produce the same amount of grain and feed nearly 36,000 people.

It is understood that the plant factory uses energy-saving LED plant growth lamps as the light source, and adopts interrelated control subsystems such as refrigeration-heating bidirectional temperature and humidity control, light-carbon dioxide coupling photosynthesis, and gas fertilizer regulation, and nutrient solution online detection and control. Real-time automatic monitoring of environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, light, airflow, carbon dioxide concentration, and nutrient solution in plant factories, realizes intelligent management and meets the needs of healthy plant production.

The first-generation indoor farm of Zhongke Biology is said to be the largest vertical farm in the world, covering an area of about 1 hectare.

"Compared with our first-generation smart farm, the new farm produces more effective results while reducing labor and environmental costs." said the person in charge of Zhongke Biology.

The person in charge explained that its core technology is light technology, light formula, and specially developed nutrient solution. "While maintaining a sustainable growth cycle, it maximizes the growth potential of plants."

Foreign media pointed out that it takes 40 to 60 days for vegetables from traditional farms to mature according to weather conditions, but the plant factories of Zhongke Biology can harvest smaller varieties within 18 days, and larger varieties can be harvested within 33 to 35 days. vegetable.

"This farming method is especially beneficial to deserts, mountain towns or cities with high labor costs." The person in charge said.

It is understood that Zhongke Biological will also plan to install artificial intelligence technology to improve the farm in the future, and use sensors to record and analyze growth data to determine the best growth conditions for each specific vegetable.
