Dubai start LED bulb replacement program

In cooperation with local energy company Etihad, Dubai Power is expected to replace 500 buildings in areas such as Al Barsha, Al Warqa and Oud Metha, replacing traditional bulbs with 160,000 LED bulbs.

This facelift program mainly hopes to reduce energy consumption, and enhance public awareness of the use of LED bulbs. Dubai Electric Power Company assigned six teams to facelift.

At the same time, the program will enable Dubai Electric Power to become more integrated into the community in terms of creating renewable energy, reducing residential electricity costs and protecting the environment. Dubai is expected before 2050 to transition to the lowest carbon footprint of the city. The replacement of LED bulbs can reduce energy consumption while supporting the Dubai 2030 into the energy plan, by 2030 to reduce carbon emissions by 30%.
