Emergency LED lighting market continues to grow
According to statistics, the global emergency lighting market in 2020 is about 5.386 billion US dollars, and it is expected that from 2021 to 2030, the emergency lighting market will grow at a compound annual growth rate of 6.4%. This demand stems from an increase in the number of construction projects, a reduction in the cost of LED lights, and continued government initiatives to drive the use of energy-efficient lighting worldwide.
In response to this growing demand, ABB will introduce its innovative and easy-to-install modular Movion range of emergency lighting, designed for offices and retail stores as well as commercial applications such as schools, restaurants and hotels.
This new escape route signaling and lighting circuit features a clever modular design for a variety of applications, including recessed and surface mounts, as well as walls and ceilings. Additionally, exit signage can be switched from ceiling to wall by simply changing the position of the electronics box by 90 degrees.
The series offers better cable entry and terminal connections for quick and easy installation, while offering new rail mounting options using the 3C interface for mounting to any type of rail adapter available on the market, making it highly Flexibility and adaptability. The battery is also easy to replace, reducing maintenance time.
For installations where the number of luminaires needs to be optimized, ABB has developed a hybrid version of the Movion that combines escape route signaling and lighting into one product. This solution can be used to provide 1 lux for escape route lighting and 5 lux for safety equipment. For these specific applications, different lenses are available and both are included with the product. On-site adjustment can be made by rotating the lens according to the actual situation, and the escape route lighting lens can also be replaced with a special lens for lighting safety equipment.
With Movion, ABB delivered impressive lighting performance and escape route signaling with a bright and equal 500 cd/m2 distribution on the pictogram. The new lighting range also offers good spacing performance, with escape routes of 18m at 3m ceiling heights and 10m x 10m at 3m ceiling heights in open areas.
