Global sales volume of LED bulbs will reach five million in 2013

　　GFK, the global market research counselor, said in 2013 that the total sales volume of LED bulb in Taiwan will reach 5,000,000, an annual growth of 43% compared with 2012.

　　Many manufacturers are optimistic about the replacement of bulbs with energy saving LED bulbs and joined the competition in the market in 2013, which results to the gradual decline in average selling prices of LED bulb, plus LED bulb last year, the average selling price of about NT $ 200 down, raise incentives for consumers to buy LED bulbs, energy saving bulbs though thus erode the territory, but for consumers it is a godsend.

　　In terms of sales volume LED bulb, LED bulb sales accounted for 39% from 2012, after a sharp rise to 69% in 2013 and continue to a 76% more sustained growth.

　　Moreover, according to GfK data show that sales of the traditional lamp of 16 million in 2009 decreased to 12.2 million in 2013.

　　In response to the global trend of actively promoting environmental friendly and green energy saving lighting, manufacturers not only began to introduce LED tubes, trying to snatch the market share of traditional tube, but also introduced a direct replacement for traditional lamp T8/T9 LED lamp. This innovation may not have much impact on individual users, but for large stores or office area, if they are using this new LED lights, they will undoubtedly saving a lot of retrofitting time and costs at the time of save energy.
