Heat Dissipation Design of Outdoor LED Lighting

　　Radiator is a critical component of led lamps. Its shape, volume and cooling surface area should be designed in harmony. If the radiator is too small and the operating temperature is too high, it will affect the luminous efficiency and lifespan. If the radiator is too large, it consumes more materials, thus increasing the cost and weight of the product and reducing the competitiveness. It is of great importance to design appropriate Led lights radiator. The design of radiators has the following parts:

　　1 Knowing the power of LED lights needing cooling.

　　2. Some parameters used in the design of radiator: specific heat of metals, heat conductivity coefficient of metals, chip heat resistance, radiator heat resistance and ambient air thermal resistance.

　　3 Determine the use of bulk type (natural convection heat, strong wind cooling, heat pipe cooling as well as other thermal cooling mode). Compared from the cost: natural convection is lowest in cost, strong wind cooling is medium, heat pipe cooling is the higher, jet cooling is the highest.

　　4 Make sure the permitted maximum operating temperature LED lamps (ambient temperature plus permitted lamp temperature)

　　5 Calculate the volume of the radiator and the heat cooling surface. And determine the shape of the radiator.

　　6 Combine the LED lights and the radiator to form a complete lighting and continue to work with power on for more than eight hours. Examine the lamp temperature at the room temperature of 39 ℃ - 40 ℃ to see whether it meets the cooling requirements and check whether the calculations are correct. If it does not satisfy the service conditions, you will have to recalculate and adjust the parameters.
