According to Indian media, "Economic Times" reported, efficient lighting demand management programs (DELP) through a combination of centralized purchasing and transparent procurement makes LED prices fell rapidly, DELP from India several state-owned enterprises (PSUs) have jointly established a joint venture Energy Services Ltd. (EESL) leading the implementation.

It is reported that, EESL makes LED bulb prices fell in February last year from 310 rupees to 73 rupees in June 2015, and fell more than 75 percent.

The goal of the program is to the Indian market of 770 million in the sale of all incandescent light bulbs replaced with LED lights, this way, to reduce the load of 20,000 megawatts per year, saving 100 billion kWh of electricity and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of 80 million ton.
