For curling events, the light environment effect of the venue will directly affect the smooth progress of the event, the athlete's competitive state, the technical level of play, and the final result of the game.
As a key project of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Science and Technology, the project responsible unit of the "National Swimming Center Curling Venue Environment and Energy-saving Key Technology Research" is the National Swimming Center. The Institute of Building Environment and Energy, China Academy of Building Research undertook and completed the light environment research. Put forward for the first time the performance evaluation index of high-power LED lamps suitable for curling venues
With the rapid development of LED lighting technology, LEDs are now widely used in general lighting. It is a general trend to completely replace traditional lighting. The International Curling Union also recommends the use of LEDs. However, whether high-power LEDs can be used for the lighting of high-level sports events, there are still many issues to be studied and resolved in terms of maturity, especially in terms of photoelectric performance, heat dissipation, color consistency, harmonics, and stroboscopic. What are the issues, how to achieve a good light environment effect in this kind of large space and high-level event applications, all need to be studied.
According to Luo Tao, sports lighting needs to pay attention to the needs of athletes and referees, on-site audiences, and television broadcasts in the venue. Among them, the basic requirements for the lighting of the curling competition include the following aspects: First, the ice surface has a high level of lighting, as uniform as possible, and no reflected glare, to ensure that athletes and referees can accurately judge and compete normally. Second, there is sufficient vertical illumination. In order to ensure the sight communication between athletes and referees, and meet the requirements of the audience watching the game; the third is to avoid glare, and to ensure the performance of the normal game and competitive level; fourth, on the basis of the above, the vertical illumination and uniformity, glare and color rendering It must also meet the requirements of television broadcasting.
Studies have shown that high color temperature and high illumination conditions can increase the excitement of athletes, thereby ensuring their competitive state and technical performance; at the same time, high lighting levels and maintaining sufficient uniformity are also the basic requirements for fairness of the game. Based on the lighting requirements of the curling venue and the architectural characteristics of the National Aquatics Center, this subject conducts experimental research on the light control characteristics, photoelectric color performance, heat dissipation, light attenuation, harmonics and stroboscopic performance of high-power LED lighting products, and It is the first time to put forward the performance evaluation index of high-power LED lamps suitable for curling venues, and lay the foundation for the formulation and revision of related standards.

Site lighting achieves energy-saving and sustainable design goals
In addition to the high requirements of high-level curling competitions on the lighting effect of the venue, the lighting scheme of the venue should also consider the post-match application of the Water Cube. In this regard, the research team proposed a reasonable lighting design to ensure that the curling competition lamps can be used in swimming competition mode without adjusting the lamp position; provide intelligent lighting control schemes that can realize rapid mode switching and can be combined with performance lighting Linked with landscape lighting, it fulfilled the requirements of post-match ice-water dual mode, color TV broadcast and various post-match activities.
According to reports, in the design of the site lighting scheme, the research team studied the operation mode and control strategy of the winter and summer project site conversion, and completed the first time to meet the needs of both water and ice sports, so that the Water Cube can serve in 2008 After the Beijing Olympics in 2008, it will serve the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
Currently, under the dual-carbon background, energy-saving operation is the core content. The research team has achieved comprehensive utilization during and after the game through multiple optimization schemes, that is, through one-key switching, the conversion between different modes can be realized, and energy-saving and efficient operation can be realized. At the same time, using dynamic variable parameter photo thermal performance simulation and solar full spectrum optimization selection technology, through photo thermal optimization and daylighting collaborative design research, a passive energy-saving design method for the optimization of the overall performance of the underground ice rink is proposed.
"First of all, it is necessary to ensure the product performance of high-power LED floodlights, especially the optical performance. Specifically, it is mainly reasonable light distribution (that is, the light distribution should be reasonable), good color rendering, and stable light output. ; Secondly, good lighting design is the core content. According to the characteristics of high-power LEDs, combined with site requirements and horse track settings, optimize the selection of lamps, rationally arrange the lamps, and use the least lamps to achieve the best lighting effect; finally, sufficient Use the advantages of intelligent lighting control to ensure efficient and economical operation. Through the research of the subject, the energy-saving rate of this project exceeds 60%." Luo Tao said.
It is worth noting that Luo Tao’s research team, as the first professional team to carry out research on sports lighting systems in China, has not only completed the "Sports Stadium Lighting Design and Testing Standards" and "LED Sports Lighting Application Technical Requirements" and other national and industry standards It also developed the domestic leading level test equipment such as sports lighting glare detection equipment, and used it for the glare detection and improvement of the lighting project of the Yokohama International Arena. It also completed all the venues and venues in the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008. Lighting testing of some venues outside Beijing and all venues of the Guangzhou Asian Games and Shenzhen Universiade.
