LED lighting products exports more than 21 billion US dollars

In recent years, China has gradually become the main base of the global LED industry. For Chinese LED companies, achieving the expansion of the global market is the "ultimate goal." Therefore, under the guidance of related strategies such as “One Belt, One Road”, Chinese companies continue to march into overseas markets, and Chinese LED products are rapidly moving out of China and going global.

According to statistics from GGII, the total export value of LED lighting products in China was approximately US$21.958 billion in 2017, a year-on-year increase of 38%, and the export volume was approximately 16.86 billion, an increase of 23% year-on-year.

However, the Sino-US trade war that broke out in 2018 led to a dramatic change in the international trade environment. Many countries, including the United States, began to restrict Chinese exports. Last year, export giants including Sunlight Lighting and Debon Lighting increased their efforts in the domestic market, which also restricted the export of Chinese LED lighting products to a certain extent.

According to GGII's "2017-2018 China LED Lighting Products Monthly Monitoring Report" data statistics show that in 2018 China's LED lighting products exports totaled about 210.42 billion US dollars, down 4% year-on-year, the export volume was 13.341 billion, down 21% year-on-year %.

According to the statistics of the High-tech Research Institute LED Research Institute (GGII), the total number of LED lighting products export enterprises in China is about 15,000 (including trading companies and production enterprises) in 2018, and the total number of LED lighting export enterprises in China in 2017 is about 22,000. In just one year, the number of export enterprises dropped sharply by about 7,000, which fully reflects the fact that the export situation has gradually increased and the industry's reshuffle process has further accelerated.

From the data point of view, the export value ranked in the top ten enterprises total exports of 2.479 billion US dollars, accounting for 12% of the total exports, an increase of 1 percentage point compared with last year.
