LED lights export from China to Japan was reduced

From the perspective of the Japanese lighting market, since the blue LED technology originated in Japan, Japan's LED lighting technology is leading the world, and the industrial chain from MOCVD, chip, packaging to general lighting and special lighting is also perfect. This is the Japanese LED industry. The development of the company has laid a good foundation. The earthquake in Fukushima caused by the earthquake in 2011 was an opportunity for the rapid development of the Japanese LED lighting industry. This incident caused a subversive change in the energy consumption concept of the Japanese people. The LED lighting in Japan began to develop rapidly. Light source products have been able to grow at a high speed. In 2012, Japan announced the ban on incandescent lamps. Japan has quickly become the world's highest LED penetration rate. Currently, general-purpose lighting products marketed in Japan are basically LEDs. According to data from the High-tech Research Institute LED Research Institute (GGII), the 2017 LED lighting market in Japan was US$5.2 billion.

LED lights export from China to Japan was reduced

The "Water Margin Treaty" submitted by the Japanese government to the United Nations restricts the production of mercury from new mines in principle, and by 2020, prohibits the production and import and export of mercury batteries and fluorescent lamps by a certain amount; the industrial planning of the Japan Lighting Industry Association is also expected In 2020, the Japanese lighting market will sell 100% of its LED products. By 2030, all lighting products including market sales and stocks will be LED products. The recent economic and real estate market in Japan has begun to pick up, and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics will keep the Japanese LED lighting market growing. GGII expects the Japanese LED lighting market to maintain a growth of around 3% in the next three years.

From the perspective of the domestic LED lighting market, due to the leading LED technology in Japan and the perfect LED lighting industry chain, Japan has many world-renowned consumer electronics companies involved in LED lighting. Therefore, the Japanese LED lighting market is mainly based on local brands. The market is relatively closed. The international lighting brands PHILIPS, GE and OSRAM also lack influence in Japan. Panasonic and Toshiba are two super brands in the Japanese LED lighting market. The market share of these two companies basically accounts for the general lighting market in Japan. 70%, due to the slowdown in demand growth in the Japanese market and the fierce competition in the international market, Panasonic and Toshiba's LED lighting business has contracted. Panasonic has closed factories in Hangzhou, Indonesia and China, and Toshiba has also announced the withdrawal of white LEDs. Business and sold the Chinese business of lighting to Konka. Other Japanese brands include Endo, Iwasaki, Koizumi, Iris Ohyama, SHARP, NEC, etc.

Judging from the access and energy efficiency requirements of the Japanese LED lighting market, the lighting products in the Japanese market are self-contained and have strict requirements for electrical safety. The most important certification is PSE certification. LED lamps requiring external power supply are required to have Class A. PSE diamond certification, the power supply must be isolated power, and the chip, package, phosphor of the whole lamp also has patent requirements, high entry threshold, requirements for individual customers, but considerable profit, good reputation, suitable for high-end products Businesses enter.

The specific requirements and certification bodies are as follows:

1, PSE certification

The certification bodies include Japanese local institutions JET and JQA and institutions outside Japan, TUV Rheinland, TUV Nande, China CQC institutions, and US UL. The certification content mainly includes safety and EMI to prove that products such as electrical and electronic products meet the requirements of the date electrical appliance safety law or the international IEC standard. The LED bulbs and LED lighting fixtures that have entered the Japanese market have been marked with a round PSE mark on July 1, 2012. Imported products subject to Japanese regulations must comply with the relevant PSE requirements. If an electrical product is listed in the regulation but it is found that there is no PSE certification, the person in charge (probably the product importer) will be sanctioned by Japanese law.

2, JIS certification

The certification body approved by the Japanese government or a third party, the JIS certification standard measurement method needs to check the model, size, quality, function and product safety, etc., the audit results can be used as an indicator of public procurement projects.

3. PSC certification

According to the Consumer Product Safety Law of Japan, consumer products that are harmful to the human body due to product structure, materials, and usage methods require the PSC certification mark when they are sold in Japan. Consumer goods certification is divided into three categories: diamond PSC certification, round PSC certification and SG certification

4, TELEC certification

Developed by TELEC (Telecom Engineering Center), mainly for LED lighting products with RF, test certification is for each equipment unit to verify, the certification is valid only for each verified equipment unit; type certification refers to the same Samples of a batch of equipment designed and manufactured are validated, and the certification is valid for the batch of equipment, but if the design or manufacture of the equipment changes, the equipment will need to be recertified.

5, VCCI certification

Developed by the Voluntary Control Council for Interference by Information Technology Equipment, it is a non-mandatory certification, but information technology products sold in Japan are generally required to be VCCI certified. The manufacturer should first apply to become a member of VCCI before using the VCCI logo. The EMI test report provided must be issued by a VCCI accredited testing facility.

In 2014, Japan was also the fourth largest destination for LED lighting exports in China. With the arrival of LED lighting in Japan and the rapid growth of LED lighting in European countries, Japan has fallen to the eighth largest export destination of LED lighting in China in 2017 and exported in 2017. Japan's LED lighting products account for nearly 2.7% of China's total LED lighting exports. According to GGII, the amount of LED lighting products exported to Japan reached 597 million US dollars in 2017, an increase of nearly 55% year-on-year. In the first three quarters of 2018, China’s export of LED lighting products to Japan amounted to US$412 million, which was basically the same as the first three quarters of 2017.
