Lighting Improvement for Locomotive Turnaround of "Zhong'an Bridge"

In order to improve the traffic safety of the Zhongan Bridge Locomotive Swing Underpass, the New Taipei City Government's Labor Support Office will carry out the underpass lighting improvement project from July 24 to September 21, from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the next day. During the construction period, the underpass will be closed. Remind passers-by to cooperate with Yijiao command to divert and drive, and in case of typhoon, construction will be postponed.

The Municipal Public Works Bureau pointed out that the Zhong’an Bridge spans the Xindian Creek and is an important arterial road connecting Xindian and Zhonghe. The lights in the Zhong’an Bridge Locomotive Swing Underpass are old and have insufficient illumination. The construction will reduce traffic impact, and the night lighting will be brighter after the overall project is completed, improving driving safety.

The Maintenance Department stated that the project will be carried out from July 24 to September 21, from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. of the next day. At that time, the Zhongan Bridge locomotive slewing underpass will be closed, and locomotive drivers will be reminded to use the New North Ring Express Yonghe Ankang section of the plane road (towards Zhonghe) to Jingping Road and then a turnaround road, and the New North Ring Express Yonghe Ankang section (towards Xindian).

The Maintenance Department further explained that the Municipal Public Works Bureau has started to re-examine the underground passages and culverts within its jurisdiction since 2011, and arrange the order of lighting improvement projects according to the incidence of traffic accidents in each underground passage and culverts, and comprehensively adopt LED lighting fixtures for tunnels So far, six lighting improvement projects have been completed year by year, including the Sanzhonglixing Road Underpass, the Chelutou Street Culvert, and the Zhonghe Xinbei Ring Express Crossing Xiulang Bridge Underpass. The lighting improvement project of the turnaround underpass and the Xinshu underpass provides a high-quality driving environment for passers-by.
