Longwanyong Wetland in Panyu District, Guangzhou will soon be fully illuminated

On March 24, the reporter was riding in the direction of Longwan Bridge at Liqi Villa in Longwanyong Wetland, Panyu District, and saw construction workers installing 4-meter-high LED street light poles. Some road sections have already been installed, and some road sections have already laid street light poles foundation. According to construction workers, the section of road where street lights are being installed is about 2.5 kilometers long. It is expected to be lit at the end of this month or early next month in the central area of Longwanyong Wetland.

It is understood that before December 2023, there will be no street lights in the entire section from the bottom of the south bank of the Third City Bridge to the west of Longwan Bridge (including Longwanyong Wetland). After the Longwanyong Wetland is fully completed, the scenery is pleasant and it is a good place for people to relax. Many people pass by here every day to visit scenic spots such as Longwanyong Wetland and Baomo Garden. However, since there are no street lights on this section, the entire section is dimly lit at night and there are many trees, which affects travel. People are afraid to pass by this section. The public has a strong desire to install street lights on this section.

In 2023, Panyu District will incorporate the "roads without lights" rectification work into ten people's livelihood matters. Panyu District Urban Management and Comprehensive Law Enforcement Bureau is responsible for completing the rectification work of 15 "roads without lights" roads, with a total of 913 street lights installed. The section from the bottom of the South Bank of the Third Bridge to the west from the Longwan Bridge is one of them. A section of more than 5,000 meters long had street lights installed and turned on in December last year. After the Spring Festival this year, Shawan Street will install street lights on an approximately 2,500-meter-long section of the Longwanyong Wetland, which is the section currently under construction. After the street lights are installed and turned on on this 2,500-meter-long section, the Longwanyong Wetland will also be all lights are on.
