New Taipei 3 car dealership underpass will be replaced with LED lights before the end of the year

The New Taipei City Public Works Bureau completed the improvement of three vehicle underpasses in Sanchong and Zhonghe districts last year. This year, the lighting systems of three vehicle underpasses in Shulin District, Zhongshan underpass, Bade underpass, and Huanhe underpass in Xindian District are listed as the targets for improvement. In the early stage, the sodium light lamps with insufficient coverage and greatly reduced lifespan were replaced, and LED lamps with uniform illumination and low glare characteristics were comprehensively replaced to improve driving safety.

Fung Siu-lun, Director of Maintenance and Works, gave a project report on the theme of "Constructing a Pedestrian Environment" in the Dao Anhui News today. He said that in order to improve driving safety, the Maintenance and Works Department inspected the underpasses and culverts of 18 car dealerships in the city, and pointed out that last year, it had begun to improve the Sanchong district underpasses, Chelutoujie culverts, and Xinbeihuan Expressway in Zhonghe District cross the Xiulang bridge underpass.

Feng Zhaolin also took the Xinbeihuan Express Crossing Xiulang Bridge underpass in Zhonghe District as an example. He pointed out that the underpass adopts LED lamps and an intelligent tunnel lighting control system, which can adjust the internal illumination in real time according to the external brightness of the underpass during the day and night, shortening the time required for passers-by to enter and exit the underpass. During the light adaptation period, the comfort of the viewing angle is strengthened. Compared with traditional lamps, it has the characteristics of high light efficiency, low energy consumption, and long life.

In addition to improving the traffic environment of vehicle underpasses, the Maintenance Department has set up a pedestrian land bridge removal project since 2019. A total of 30 pedestrian land bridges with low utilization rates were demolished in three years. At present, there are 114 pedestrian land bridges left in the city. Feng Zhaolin said that for the unused pedestrian underpass, the severely flooded Linsen underground in Yonghe District was planned to be a flood detention pond after the trial closure was abolished. It is expected to hold about 157 tons of water. The "Linsen underground in Yonghe District" , “Xiulang Bridge underpass in Zhonghe District” and "Zhongshan Yongping underpass" will be closed for one month in succession from this year, and through the collection of public opinion, the subsequent survival and transformation will be assessed, so as to achieve a friendly human-centered environment and urban flood control effect.
