North Korea likes to buy LED lighting products
November 2013, RFA get inside the news that North Korea North Korea's electricity is scarce, and even 70% of the electricity required by the user are not met, it also forces people to find alternative sources of energy is more energy-efficient. Korean people, who asked not to be named, said: "Recently, buy LED bulb sharp increase in the number of North Korean citizens, businesses are competing inland from the DPRK border town to buy LED bulb."
February 2014, a report from the Korean official said, lighting electrical factory throughout the country are being ramped up production of LED lighting products. More and more families began to use lighting and public lighting LED lamps, major hotels and buildings have also been installed LED lamps. But the report did not talk about whether the current production schedule can fully meet the demand for new lighting products, which is why the Korean people buying Chinese manufactured LED bulb craze has not diminished.
A source revealed to the RFA, LED light penetration in Korea because North Korea is soaring electricity shortages, the average family can not provide the necessary electrical work normal 220V voltage, but was able to normal lighting LED lights under low voltage conditions. In the summer peak period, the DPRK only common household voltage up to 170V, lower in the winter to 100V. Incandescent difficult to provide a voltage below 220V required under normal lighting, and LED lights will be different, even if the voltage is below 70V, it is still capable of normal lighting. So, despite the higher price of LED incandescent lamp twice as much, the Korean people still willing to buy LED lights.
According to the U.S. Department of Energy, another advantage of LED lights is the long service life. High power LED lamp life of up to 50,000 hours in general, compared to only 2,000 hours of incandescent life of 15,000 hours of fluorescent lamps, LED lamps highlight the advantages of life.
