Puli water bamboo shoots field lighting replaces LED lights
The Nantou County Government's "Water Bamboo Bamboo Shoots Electricity Saving Demonstration Zone" competition invited the local farmers' association, production and marketing class and National Jinan University in Puli to cooperate across borders to transform the strong white light of sodium lamps into soft LED purple-red light, which greatly saves electricity bills and light pollution, which is harmful to the environment and ecology. As a result, Hong Ruizhi, secretary-general of Nantou County Government, encouraged more farmers to replace lamps, increase production and save energy.
The Nantou County Government promoted the power-saving demonstration area. Last year, it guided the 16th and 25th classes of vegetable production and sales in Puli Town and Jinan University to jointly propose the "LED Lighting and Bamboo Bamboo Shoot Field Demonstration Site Construction and Power-Saving Promotion Plan" to replace traditional high voltage with LED lights. Sodium lamps, which achieved the effect of energy saving and electricity saving, were rated as the first place by the selection review meeting, and received a subsidy of 2.5 million RMB from the county government for the replacement of lamps and lanterns.
Hong Ruizhi said that the county government built a 10-hectare demonstration area in Xinanli, Zhugeri and Shuitouli in Puli Town last year, replacing a total of 344 high-pressure sodium lamps, which is expected to save 111,000 kWh of electricity every year. If all hectares of water bamboo shoots are retrofitted with LED lights, about 100 million RMB in electricity bills can be saved a year, which not only saves energy but also saves more costs for farmers.
The water bamboo shoots field in Puli Town uses high-pressure sodium lamps to fill in the light at night, which is expensive to remove electricity and harms the environment and ecology. Through professional research, LED lighting technology can effectively reduce insect pests and make the light even, and increase the production of water bamboo shoots. The county government will continue to seek subsidies from the central government to reduce the burden on farmers and make the production of agricultural products more competitive.
Cai Yongbin, Dean of the School of Science and Technology of Jinan University, said that 90% of the national water bamboo shoots are produced in Puli, and the water bamboo shoots industry is a very important industry for Puli Town. Jinan University found that the water bamboo shoot fields are illuminated at night, causing light pollution and high energy consumption. The power saving plan can cooperate with the county government and the production and sales class to make efforts for the promotion of the industry and energy saving.
The leader of the 25th class of the vegetable production and marketing team in Puli Town said that the replacement of high-pressure sodium lamps in the field of water bamboo shoots with LED lights saves two-thirds of the energy, and can also improve the quality and quantity of water bamboo shoots, which is a win-win for farmers and consumers.
