With the acceleration of urbanization in China, LED streetlight, with the advantages of its directional light, low power consumption, good drive performance, fast response, high shock resistance, long lifespan and environmental friendly, is gradually accepted by people and becoming the world's most dominant alternatives in replacing traditional light source with new generation energy-saving light source. 　　1. Luminous efficiency

　　LED lighting technology has become more and more mature. High power LED light source has already met the luminous flux general streetlight required. The luminous flux of general high pressure sodium lamp is 100LM / W, while general high power LED is 50-60LM / W, with the best LED chip abroad can even reach 80LM / W. The higher the luminous efficiency is, the better the energy-saving efficiency. This is one of the most important indicators in selecting the LED streetlight. However, this has not been clearly defined in LED's standards. So it must be carefully confirmed when purchasing LED streetlight.

　　2. LED street light failure

　　Now some merchants use hundreds of 0.5W small LED in order to reduce costs. However, this low-power LED light has very serious light failure. Those light failure reaches 80% only have a lifespan of 1000 hours. So, as a long-term use light, streetlight is absolutely not allowed to use such small power LED. Using high powerful LED (generally refers to those power above 30W) will have a much lower light failure.

　　3. The dead weight of LED streetlight

　　Due to the high technical content and complex composition of LED streetlight, some high power lamp bases will weigh far more than ordinary high pressure sodium. Therefore, there are higher requirements on the corresponding backing materials. However, some LED streetlight manufacturers have tried to reduce the dead weight of LED streetlight as much as possible. A LED streetlight base has reduced from the original 30 kilograms to about 10 kilograms and there is still tendency for reducing.

　　4. The cooling ability of LED streetlight

　　As LED is a semiconductor device, it will lose the meaning of lighting when affected by the temperature, its chip decreased to 30% of the initial luminous flux. This is the end of its life. Theoretically, high power LED streetlight has a lifespan of 3-5 million hours, but this is based on the important prerequisite of good cooing ability.
