Signify expands partnership with Europe's largest vertical farm

Signify has announced that it is expanding its partnership with Planet Farms. Headquartered in Italy, Planet Farms is Europe's leading vertical farm operator. Thanks to the latest agreement, the largest vertical farm in Europe will use Philips GreenPower LED production modules to improve the quality and yield of crops. This allows Planet Farms to produce and deliver the most delicious aromatic herbs and lettuce to its Italian customers throughout the year.

In addition, Signify has reached an agreement to supply horticultural LED grow lights for another five vertical farms that Planet Farms plans to build in the next few years in different European countries, including Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

The Philips Greenpower LED production module is Signify's latest horticultural LED innovation for vertical farming, helping growers optimize multi-layer crops. By managing lighting with the Philips GrowWise control system, growers can easily create and run custom light recipes on dimmable and color-controllable modules to meet the needs of different crops and growth stages. Growers have the flexibility to create and control time-based lighting recipes and increase crop yields and operational efficiency in enclosed, climate-controlled grow facilities.

It is reported that this year, Planet Farms will complete the construction of Europe's largest vertical farm in Cavenago, north of Milan. The vertical farm covers an area of ??9,000 square meters, equivalent to the area of ??45 tennis courts. Planet Farms manages the entire growing process, starting from the seed and ending with the packaged product, with the entire production process fully automated.
