Signify will close its Salina, Kansas lighting plant

According to foreign media reports, Signify plans to close its manufacturing plant in Salina, Kansas, USA. To cope with the decline in the demand for traditional lighting, Signify plans to transfer the production of traditional lighting products from the factory to factories in Poland and India, using economies of scale to improve efficiency.

The company will gradually transition production and plans to stop operations at the Salina plant in the second quarter of 2021.

Signify has signed an agreement to sell its Salina factory to a local manufacturing company. The transaction is expected to be completed on July 31, 2021.
