Street lights illuminate Qingyang County, Chizhou, Anhui
Recently, Shi'an Village, Youhua Town, Qingyang County, Chizhou City, Anhui Province, added solar street lights in the villagers' groups and on the mechanized farming roads, making the villagers' travel roads bright, and really improving the people's sense of security and happiness index.
Shi'an Village is located at the northern end of Youhua Town. National Highway 318 passes through the village. It is an administrative village on the way to Youhua Town. Shi'an Village has a total of 12 villagers' groups, with a population of 439 households and 1,593 people, and a permanent population of about 600 people. Due to the weak economy of Shi'an Village and insufficient basic facilities, many villagers' groups have not installed street lights. At night, it is dark, which not only affects the villagers' travel, but also poses many safety hazards.
When Su Guoqing, secretary of the Party General Branch of Shi'an Village, visited the masses, many villagers told him that they hoped to install street lights on the mechanized farming roads and villagers' groups. Su Guoqing saw it with his own eyes and kept it in mind. He discussed the feasibility of the project through on-site inspections, inquiries to the surrounding people, discussions, and discussions with the village party committee and the village representative assembly. At the meeting, he communicated the street light installation plan and planned the selection and location of the street lights. It is estimated that 60 street lights will need to be installed at a cost of 90,000 yuan. Later, he applied to the superior department for the 2024 reservoir resettlement support project. Considering the weak economy of Shi'an Village, combined with the contact and assistance of the Bureau's village-Qingyang County Tobacco Monopoly Bureau, a request for financial support was made to the unit, which attracted great attention from the Bureau's village unit. Through investigation, the Bureau's village unit believed that the project was a livelihood project involving 10 villager groups, benefiting more than 1,400 people from 300 households. It is very necessary to install street lights and should be solved in time. It was decided to subsidize 20,000 yuan to the project in Shi'an Village.
In December 2023, the 2024 "Reservoir Resettlement" project was approved for the installation of street lights in Shi'an Village. The bidding meeting for the project was held on April 18, 2024, and the street light problem that the villagers had been thinking about was finally solved.
In order to urge the timely implementation of the street light installation project, the members of the supervision committee and the village representatives actively participated in the project, supervised the project construction progress, construction safety, engineering quality, etc., and actively coordinated to solve the difficulties and problems encountered during the implementation process to ensure that the project was completed on time and with quality. On May 10, under the active promotion of the representatives, in just over half a month, all 60 solar street lights had been installed. The street lights were strung together to illuminate the countryside, outlining a beautiful rural night scene.
