Streetlight Illumination Project in Xiama Village, Jiaozuo, Henan Province
To address the shortcomings in rural infrastructure and resolve the issues of insufficient lighting and significant safety hazards for villagers traveling at night, thereby effectively improving their sense of happiness and security, Xiama Village in Macun Subdistrict, Macun District, Jiaozuo City, Henan Province, recently completed a streetlight illumination project on its main roads, providing a bright light for villagers to safely return home and ensuring that the beneficial policies are implemented at the grassroots level.
The illuminated section is the core main road of Xiama Village, stretching from Zhongma Village in the north to the railway crossing in the south. This is a crucial passage for villagers' daily travel, agricultural production, and commuting. Previously, this section lacked standardized lighting facilities for a long time, resulting in complete darkness at night. This not only caused considerable inconvenience for villagers traveling and relaxing at night but also posed a significant safety risk to the elderly and children, a pressing livelihood issue that the villagers urgently wanted resolved.
To accurately respond to the public's expectations and make good use of the resources provided by higher authorities, the Xiama Village Committee, based on its actual conditions and after investigating public opinion, conducted on-site surveys of road conditions and strictly adhered to the facility allocation standards set by higher authorities to scientifically plan the installation locations and layout of streetlights. During construction, staff strictly controlled the quality and safety of the project, completing all procedures including pole erection, wiring, installation, and debugging in a standardized manner. This ensured that every streetlight provided by higher authorities was functional, providing full illumination coverage of the road area without blind spots or dead angles, maximizing traffic safety and maximizing the benefits for the people.
Currently, all the new streetlights have been installed, debugged, and put into use. Every night, the streetlights on both sides of the road light up one after another, casting a bright and soft glow across the entire main road, completely changing the previous situation of dark and difficult-to-traverse roads. The use of streetlights has effectively reduced safety hazards such as bumps and collisions and traffic accidents at night, significantly improving the road safety factor.
