The Ministry of Economic Affairs also planned an LED lighting promotion system integration output plan in 2016, hoping to organize teams and demonstration fields. The three major strategies, such as domain and international integration, will gather the strength of Taiwan’s LED industry to move into the smart lighting market with 90 billion business opportunities.

For example, the Portable Manual Research Institute of the Technology Department of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, through project subsidies, combined with companies such as Dongbei, ADATA, Lite-On, and Delta to form a blue ocean fleet of LED lighting to jointly develop smart lighting solutions. The Industrial Technology Research Institute also cooperated with the Park Street Lighting Project Management Office of the Taipei City Government Works Bureau to build Taiwan’s first fast road LED smart street lighting system between Zhongxing Bridge on the third floor of Huanhenan Road in Taipei City and Guilin Road. It provides smart functions such as real-time monitoring, automatic repair, and time-sharing dimming, becoming the first demonstration field for smart lighting applications.

Lin Zengyao, director of the Measurement Center of the Industrial Technology Research Institute, pointed out that the fast road LED smart street light system is a combination of information communication and sensor network technology. It can adjust the lighting brightness of the LED street light according to the weather or peak and off-peak usage conditions. The monitoring personnel can also Monitor the status of street lights from the management interface, greatly improving equipment maintenance efficiency. If it can be expanded to all street lights in Taiwan in the future, it is estimated that it will save 360 ??million kilowatt-hours of electricity and reduce 201,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year. In view of the good results of the aforementioned projects, the Industrial Technology Research Institute will cooperate with the State Administration of Highways and Transport of the Ministry of Communications to build a standard demonstration field for LED expressway street lights on the Xibin Expressway of Taiwan Route 61, except that the original 250W high-pressure sodium lights will be replaced with LED street lights In addition to providing better lighting quality to increase the safety of passers-by, it is also hoped that by installing more LED street lights, Taiwanese companies can accumulate more construction experience and R&D energy.
