The demand for filament lamps in the US market soared in 2018
In recent years, the global lighting market has become increasingly fierce and product differentiation has become an inevitable trend. With the prohibition of the sale of incandescent lamps and the improvement of standardized production specifications of LED filament lamps in recent years, in many lighting fixtures, LED filament lamps have the advantages of their traditional incandescent lamp shapes, full-angle lighting, high color rendering, and high luminous efficacy. The past few years have attracted much attention.
Data show that in 2015, the global sales of filament lamps exceeded 70 million. In 2016, the global sales of filament lamps exceeded 200 million, and in 2017, the total market capacity of LED filament lamps was 4-5 billion. It is estimated that by 2020, global LED filament lamps will continue to maintain rapid growth in the market.
According to the import trade data, from January to December of 2017, the total export value of LED filament lamps reached 38.13 million US dollars, of which the European market is more receptive to LED filament lamp products, ranking first in export value, up to 22.27 million US dollars, accounting for 58.42%. Followed by 29.44% in North America, 6.05% in Asia, 4.60% in Latin America, 1.24% in Oceania, and 0.25% in Africa.
The European Union plans to completely phase out halogen lamps by 2018 and boost the demand for LED filament lamps in the European market from 2016 to 2017. As the users begin to replace halogen lamps that will be phased out by 2020, the US market is expected to have LED filament lamps and its demand will soar in 2018.
