At the beginning of this year, the first batch of comprehensive pilot areas for digital, green, coordinated transformation and development in the country were determined, and Yancheng was one of the ten pilot areas. Our city has decided to implement a pilot project for the construction of smart street lights in the renovation of the intersection of Jiefang Road and Qingnian Road in the urban area, so as to accumulate experience for future road construction and urban renewal.

In view of the actual situation of this road section, the city's street lamp management team decided to make a fuss about "subtraction" and "addition" after overall planning.

"Minus": Adopt the combined pole design to integrate street lights, small signs, video surveillance, etc.;

"Add": Through technological empowerment, add multiple functions such as security monitoring, green environment, and smooth traffic.

The number of various rods in this area has been greatly reduced from 82 before the renovation to 33 now, which greatly improves the visual openness and cleanliness of the intersection.

According to reports, the current integrated smart light pole integrates road lighting, public security, urban management, environmental protection, communication and other functions, and also collects information through various front-end IoT sensing devices equipped with it, and cooperates with the smart management platform to analyze various information, optimization and auxiliary decision-making, and realize intelligent management.

Intelligent vehicle management is the biggest achievement of this transformation. After the transformation, the street light signal control system has realized the transformation from the previous "cars look at the lights" to "lights look at the car", and the traffic of vehicles is smoother. Equipped with a smart AI camera on the smart light pole, it can collect information in real time, record warning information for motor vehicles illegally entering and parking non-motor vehicle lanes, and link the front-end display screen and broadcast sound column to drive away the vehicles, forming an effective front-end autonomy.

The smart street lighting system realizes voice warning, security monitoring, information release and the organic connection of the original surrounding poles to ensure the safety of pedestrians crossing the street. The multi-functional light pole at the intersection is equipped with a voice warning device for pedestrians running a red light and an intersection information release screen to detect whether pedestrians run a red light and give a voice warning.

The system also realizes the intelligence of environmental management. Through the environmental sensor terminal, the key information (air quality, temperature and humidity, wind speed and direction, noise, electromagnetic radiation, light intensity, etc.) within 1 km of the surrounding area is collected in real time to realize the intelligence of the urban environment and weather monitor. The new system is also equipped with a single lamp control function, which has changed from traditional inspection and maintenance to on-demand customized repairs. The fault point is actively pushed through the background to implement accurate repairs. The system can also realize on-demand dimming of street lamps, saving energy and reducing consumption.

It is the integration of various technologies such as smooth traffic, security monitoring, and environmental protection. The smart street lamp control system platform reduces traffic congestion through intelligent control of traffic signals. Yancheng City is actively exploring the experience of intelligent management and control of this road section, providing a replicable and scalable model for urban construction and urban renewal, and comprehensively improving the level of urban digital, green, and coordinated transformation and development.
